Terry Gieser's deep-rooted connection to baseball began in his childhood, where playing the game was interwoven with his daily life on the farm. He honed his skills between farm chores, fostering a lifelong passion for the sport.
Terry's baseball journey continued through his time at Wadena High School, where he excelled on the diamond while simultaneously playing amateur baseball for the Bluffton Braves. His dedication to the Braves became a defining aspect of his life. He has spent over five decades with the team, with a significant portion of that time serving as their manager.
Terry's commitment to the Bluffton Braves is evident in his tireless efforts to enhance the team's facilities. His hands-on approach to field maintenance, including watering and lining the field before games, demonstrates his unwavering dedication.
Beyond his on-field responsibilities, Terry has been instrumental in fundraising efforts, spearheading the construction of a new grandstand and concession stand. His vision and leadership have transformed the Bluffton ballpark into a cherished community asset.
Terry has generously volunteered his time to coach Little League, Babe Ruth, Legion, and high school teams, nurturing the next generation of baseball players.
His commitment to community service goes beyond the baseball field. Terry is an active member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church and a volunteer leader of the Heinola Hustlers 4-H Club.
