Ken Kuck's dedication to baseball resonated throughout his life, beginning with his formative years on a farm near New Ulm. His early passion for the game was evident as he honed his skills by throwing balls against the farm buildings.
Kenny's baseball journey continued through his high school years at Holy Trinity High School, now New Ulm Cathedral, and the New Ulm Legion teams. He later became a standout catcher and manager for the Searles amateur baseball team. His commitment to youth development was demonstrated through his coaching of the Searles Little League team.
After his playing and managing days concluded, Ken transitioned to umpiring, officiating amateur and high school baseball games for over two decades.
His involvement with the Searles Baseball Association was extensive. He served as a member of the board of directors and as president, contributing significantly to the organization's success. Kenny was a key member of the fundraising group that enhanced the Searles ballpark with the installation of lights. Beyond his board responsibilities, he actively participated in fundraising events and field maintenance.
Kenny's commitment to community service extended beyond baseball. He was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he served on the church council and was a trustee. He was also a member of St. John’s Catholic United Financial and the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Board of Directors for Minnesota Valley Funeral Home for nine years, serving as President of the Board for several of those years. Additionally, he served on the New Ulm Catholic School board.
