John Hanowski's dedication to athletics and community service is deeply rooted in his Little Falls upbringing. A 1976 graduate of Little Falls High School, he excelled in both football and baseball, earning recognition in the Shriners All-State football game and the Lions All-State baseball game.
His athletic pursuits continued at St. John’s University, where he contributed to the 1976 National Championship football team and earned three varsity letters in baseball.
John's passion for baseball extended into his adult life. He played amateur baseball for the Flensburg Falcons of the Victory League, where he also served as manager, leading the team to numerous state tournament appearances.
Recognizing the importance of youth development, John has been instrumental in fostering baseball at the grassroots level. He played a key role in establishing the Junior Victory League and the Little Falls Baseball travel teams, providing opportunities for young athletes to hone their skills.
His commitment to coaching is evident in his roles as the Flyers High School baseball coach and the VFW coach.
Beyond coaching, John has dedicated countless hours to improving baseball facilities. His work has included building batting cages, cutting sod, mending fences, mowing grass, fixing backstops, and leveling fields.
John's dedication to his community extends to his faith. He is an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
