Gary Grob’s baseball career extends from 1949-2002 as a batboy, player, manager, coach, volunteer, field maintenance, and mentor to youth. Gary played school ball for Lacrosse Central High School and Winona State.
He played amateur ball for La Crescent, Winona, Caledonia, Rushford and Rollingstone. He also played service ball while serving in the Marine Corps in 1956 & 1957.
Gary coached and directed the Caledonia Park and Recreation program from 1958-1964. Gary started the Pee Wee, T Ball and Little League.
Gary coached baseball at Winona State from 1967-1974 and 1976-2002. His 1020 wins are the most ever for a head college baseball coach in Minnesota.
Gary has served over 55 years as a MSHSL official.
He has been a member of Kiwanis International for 38 years serving as secretary for 33 years.
