Dan played baseball for Gaylord High School, Worthington J.C. and the University of Minnesota Morris.
He taught at Arlington from 1979-1983, Hayfield from 1983-2000 and Rochester from 2000-2014.
Dan was the head baseball and basketball coach at Hayfield and has been the head baseball coach at Rochester Mayo High School from 2006 to present (2014).
He has coached VFW baseball from 2009 - present (2014).
Dan played amateur baseball at Gaylord from 1973-1979 and Arlington from 1980-1991 and has been a part of three state championships.
He was the head coach of the Rochester Royals amateur team from 2005-2010.
He is active on the Royals baseball board. His efforts helped to make it possible to have a new scoreboard at Mayo High School.
