Charlie Peik played high school baseball for Brownton from 1960-1963 and college ball for Mankato State.
He played amateur ball for the Brownton Bruins and the Gaylord Islanders. Charlie has played, coached, and supported baseball in a variety of ways for the past 45 years.
He coached high school baseball for Gaylord and Sibley East. He also coached the Gaylord Legion and the Gaylord Islanders town team. Charlie was also in charge of the summer recreation program for children ages 9-15.
He was co-chairman of the 2009 MBA State Tournament hosted by Gaylord and Arlington. He is currently vice-president of the Gaylord Baseball Association.
In addition, Charlie has spent countless hours working on the field, in the concession stand, running the scoreboard, and setting up hitting cages. He has built picnic tables, bar stools and decks for Walsh Field.
